Project : Kosi Flood Control
Place : Nepal & Bihar
Cost : 115Cr
Details : Kosi River is the most destructive river in the history of India. The Eastern Kosi Afflux Bund breached in August 2008 causing havoc throughout Nepal and Bihar. The floods were declared as a Natural Calamity and GOI constituted a high level committee to find a way to close the breach.
The work constituted construction of 3 Coffer Dams of 2 KMs and closing the 1.7 KM Breach and was to be completed by March 31 st 2009 in a period of just 5 Months.
Vasishta had successfully completed the Coffer Dams and Main Breach on January 26th 2009 well within the stipulated time. Received appreciation certificates from the Disaster Management Depart and State Government of Bihar for the exceptional work done.
